I create three games: a puzzle-solving game, a narrative unpacking and exploration game, and a serious game that teaches people basic programming skills. Each game gave me different opportunities to explore the different platforms to develop games on. Throughout the process, I really enjoyed making puzzle games and story-telling. They are a fun way for me to put my interest into reality. I resonated with puzzle making the most since it's satisfying to watch people play-testing struggle a little bit on some of my levels. Sometimes this is missing from a narrative game where the player doesn't have too much choice.
I want to continue making more puzzle dependent games. Even though I only touched on the very surface of puzzle-making games, the process is very satisfying. I want to improve my skills in designing more complicated and interactive puzzles and increase the ways a player can interact with the puzzles.
It might be helpful for the people playing my games to know that the games are supposed to help them learn something and have fun at the same time. Especially with the coding narrative game, I tried to make the learning experience more fun and engaging. For all three games, I gave the player plenty choices and different results corresponding to each choice. It had been a great time for me to make the games and I hope the players can have a great time playing them too.
